Cowboys upset Manly at Brookvale

The North Queensland Cowboys have proven themselves to worthy away winners by outclassing the Manly Sea Eagles 31-20 at Brookvale Oval this evening.

The Cowboys started strongly racing away to an 8-0 lead after just 9 minutes. The Sea Eagles struck back with a try and penalty goal to Ben Walker. But the visitors finished the stronger with some fine backing-up from centre Josh Hannay. At half time, the Cowboys were in front 14-8.

Matt Bowen set up the first try in the second half when David Myles scored in the 42nd minute and with the score favouring the Cowboys 20-8, the match was all but over.

Overall, the Cowboys scored three of their five tries from kicks and displayed some excellent support play to out-gun their more fancied rivals.
