Cronulla claim NSW Cup Grand Final

The Cronulla Sharks have secured the 2013 VB NSW Cup Premiership with a heavy defeat of the Windsor Wolves 36-8 at ANZ Stadium. The Sharks top off their solid year after also claiming the Minor Premiership.

The Wolves started strong with early points to Eto Nabuli who claimed the first of two tries for Windsor. The Wolves jumped to 4-0 after 9 minutes.

Penani Manumalealii was a standout for the Sharks as he darted into a gap to dance his way through the defence to post the Sharks first try. After 20 minutes they took the lead 6-4 with the conversion from Chad Townsend.

Just minutes later Penrith bound, Tyrone Peachey found his name on the scorers sheet as he powered out of a tackle from Anthony Cherrington and dived in.

Eto Nabuli claimed his second try of the afternoon as he broke free of the defence the Fijian flyer bolted away untouched. Windsor closed the gap to 12-8 with 10 minutes until the break.

Shortly before the half time siren, Michael Lichaa was awarded his try by the video referee as he slid over the goal line. At the break, Cronulla led 18-8.

The points continued to flow for the Sharks as they scored 18 unanswered points in the second half.
