Dean Young Out For Season

The St George Illawarra Dragons today advised that Dean Young will take no further part in the 2007 Telstra Premiership due to injury.

Young, 23, suffered a serious knee injury in Round 25 last year that has had ongoing complications throughout the entire recovery process, including a serious infection after the surgical procedure in October last year.

The Dapto junior made his comeback in Round 8 this year and contributed significantly to the victory over the Panthers, but unfortunately was only able to play three consecutive games before succumbing to further injury to his left knee which requires weeks of complete rest.

With his knee requiring long-term rest, Young in consultation with the coaching and medical staff has taken the opportunity to also fix a minor ongoing left shoulder problem. As a result, Young underwent successful shoulder surgery on Tuesday.
