Dolphins trial results

Redcliffe were defeated 20 - 12 by Brothers-Valleys in their opening trial match of season 2004.

Rob Campbell had the coaching duties for Premier Grade and had a young side at his disposal after many regular 1st graders were rested.

Brothers-Valleys led 10 - nil at half time before going ahead 16 - nil shortly after the break. Redcliffe threatened to roll over the top of the Blues with two converted tries before a late try sealed the victory for the visitors.

In the A Grade game Neil Wharton had charge of the Open Trialists plus a couple of established players. In a game played in three 25min thirds Redcliffe ran out 20 - 14 winners.

The Dolphins played two colts games today - the first at Ballina against Northern Rivers and the second at Dolphin Oval.

Northern Rivers defeated a Darren Smallhorne coached outfit which included several 2003 Colts 22 - 20 while Redcliffe got up against Brothers-Valleys 20 - 10. Maddison Murphy and Daniel Bennett each scored two tries against Brothers-Valleys.

Next Saturday Redcliffe travel to Ipswich to take on the Jets in three grades. Games start at 4pm at Bendigo Bank Oval.
