Doncaster Lakers have bulked up their young and enthusiastic forward pack by signing 26 year old Australian, Ryan Tandy.
A previous National League Grand Finalist with Whitehaven in 2005 and last season with Widnes, Ryan brings big match experience to the club. He arrives at the club on Friday in time to watch his team mates take on the Sheffield Eagles at the Don Valley Stadium (kick off 8pm) and said from his home in Australia ahead of setting off: "I'm really looking forward to playing for Doncaster. The stadium is fantastic and the direction the club is taking was attractive to me."
Tandy, who starred alongside Super League stars Chris Leikvoll (Warrington) and Chris Nero (Huddersfield) in his time with the St George Illawarra Dragons side in Australia, played 20 games for Widnes last season, scoring six tries in the process.
