The St George Illawarra Dragons have today signed Chris Sheppard from the North Queensland Cowboys for the remainder of the 2005 season.
Sheppard, 24, was released by the Cowboys today and the Dragons have recruited the halfback to help with the current injury concerns to the "halves".
"We look forward to Chris playing an active part in helping us overcome our recent injury setbacks as we continue our march towards the semi-finals," said Dragons Chief Executive Officer Peter Doust.
The former Queensland under 19 representative made his first grade debut in 2001 and has played 60 first grade games since this time.
I am excited about coming to the Dragons and at the opportunity to play behind such a dominant pack," said Sheppard. "It is something that every halfback dreams of and this opportunity is quite unbelievable".
