Dragons will
not appeal NRL fine

A sub-committee of the St George Illawarra Dragons Board decided today not to appeal against the NRL's decision to fine the club $10,000 yesterday.

Dragons Chief Executive Officer Peter Doust said the sub-committee met in Wollongong on a number of matters, but spent some time discussing the breach notice issued by the NRL over comments made by coach Nathan Brown at a post-match media conference on Saturday.

“We don't condone the use of such descriptive language as used by Nathan Brown, but we understand how it may have happened,” Doust said.

“After all Nathan is only human and everybody in the game understands Nathan to be a good person, good for the game and for the club and we are happy to stand by him.”
