Dragons will
not appeal NRL fine

A sub-committee of the St George Illawarra Dragons Board decided today not to appeal against the NRL's decision to fine the club $10,000 yesterday.

Dragons Chief Executive Officer Peter Doust said the sub-committee met in Wollongong on a number of matters, but spent some time discussing the breach notice issued by the NRL over comments made by coach Nathan Brown at a post-match media conference on Saturday.

β€œWe don't condone the use of such descriptive language as used by Nathan Brown, but we understand how it may have happened,” Doust said.

β€œAfter all Nathan is only human and everybody in the game understands Nathan to be a good person, good for the game and for the club and we are happy to stand by him.”
