Drew, Quinn out of weekend
matches

Canberra Raiders hooker Brad Drew is out of tonight?s round two opening clash with defending premiers Penrith.

Drew has succumbed to a sternum injury.

Drew missed the Raiders opening round match with St George-Illawarra last weekend but was named in this weekend?s squad by coach Matthew Elliot on Tuesday. He hasn?t recovered fully from the injury though, and the Raiders don?t want to risk further damage.

Elliot will name his revised squad an hour before tonight?s kickoff at Canberra Stadium. The Panthers are expected to remain unchanged.

Meanwhile, Newcastle have lost winger Anthony Quinn for Sunday?s clash with the Melbourne Storm.

Quinn is suffering from a quadriceps injury and will be replaced by George Carmont, who will make his top grade debut.
