The 2004 RLI Conference final next Saturday will be an all Dublin affair after both Clontarf Bulls and Dublin Blues successfully negotiated their respective semi finals. At Castle Avenue, Clontarf gave Waterford Vikings a lesson in finishing, running out 44-14 winners. Despite a gallant fight from the Vikings, the Bulls were too strong on the day, Paul Mullins scoring two of Clontarf's eight tries.
Treaty City Titans debut RL season came to an end when they went down to Dublin Blues at Dooradoyle. Tries from the impressive Liam Brown, Kevin O'Riordan, as well as the reliable boot of Billy Treacy gave the Titans a 14-6 late in the first half. However, a blistering 20 minute spell either side of half time saw the Blues hit the front with tries from Lance Bullen, Vinny O'Dowd and Julian Pringle.
Although the Titans levelled through Niall Keogh, the Blues restored thier lead with tries from Kial McConville and Mick Laville (his second). Liam Browne scored his own second ten minutes from time but the Blues restored their ten point advantage late on when Bullen struck again.
