Eels Score Runaway Easter Monday
Win

On a beautiful Easter Monday holiday in Sydney the Parramatta Eels have scored a runaway 41-20 win over the South Sydney Rabbitohs at Parramatta Stadium this afternoon.

However the game was much closer than the score line suggests as when the teams went to the sheds for half time, the Eels were only leading 18-10.

It looked like it could be anyone?s game and when Willie Peters sprinted 30 metres to score under the posts in the 67th minute and the score was 28-20 in favour of the Eels. With the Peters try and then a penalty awarded against the Eels for being offside at the ensuing kick off, it seemed the Rabbitohs were building some terrific momentum to stage a great come from behind victory.

But a 74th minute field goal by man of the match Adam Dykes started a dream stretch for the Eels as they scored 13 points in just four minutes.

For the Eels today proved what a great attacking side they can be with Adam Dykes and Nathan Hindmarsh having outstanding games as well as the rest of the Eels side.

For the Rabbitohs for them to be a threat in this year?s competition they will need to greatly improve their defence especially close to the line and they also have to learn that they need to give their all for the whole 80 minutes.

Rabbitohs halfback Willie Peters and captain Bryan Fletcher can hold their heads up high as they tried hard all day without luck despite the fact that both of them were struggling with injury at different times of the game but still dug in.
