Eels wriggle into last four

Parramatta has set up a mouth-watering showdown with arch-rivals the Bulldogs for a spot in the NRL Grand Final with a 27-2 victory over the thus-eliminated Gold Coast Titans at the Sydney Football Stadium.

The Titans almost completely lacked cutting edge in attack, despite numerous opportunities, and Parramatta were able to take advantage of their own chances often enough to ensure a reasonably comfortable win, their first-ever over the Titans.

Gold Coast had the better of the early exchanges, but decided to take a penalty goal instead of a try early on. They led 2-0 at the halfway point of the first half, but soon after, Parramatta took the lead, and never relinquished it.
