Hull FC produced a late scoring burst to see off the Celtic Crusaders at the K.C. Stadium.

Played in wet conditions the first half was a very tight affair and with seconds remaining on the clock recalled centre Craig Hall, who had been on loan at Widnes broke the deadlock as the Black and Whites went into the break leading 4-0.

Celtic made a better start to the second half and the pressure told on 50-minutes as Papua New Guinea forward Jason Chan got the Welsh-side on terms. Damien Quinn added a penalty goal as the Crusaders took a narrow 6-4 lead.

On 68-minutes, the hosts regained the lead thanks to a try from Gareth Raynor and Danny Tickle - the only player to have scored in every game this season - converted from the touchline.

In the last 10-minutes, Hull won the game and took the points with tries from Mark Calderwood and ex-Eel Josh Cordoba, who was making his debut.
