Leeds Rhinos came back to form as they thrashed the Warrington Wolves at The Headingley Carnegie Stadium.

Leeds, celebrating the opening of their new Carnegie Stand and 100 years to the day since their first ever match at the thirteen a side code, crossed for nine times in all with Jamie Thackray notching two before half-time - the second a sixty metre special.

Challenge Cup winners St Helens virtually clinched the League Leaders shield with a hard-fought win over Wakefield Wildcats at Knowsley Road.

Wakefield took an early shock lead via Jason Demetriou's try but scores from Paul Wellens, Jamie Lyon and Lee Gilmour put Saints 16-6 ahead at half time. Adam Watene's try made it 16-12 before Saints upped the pace and with tries from Lyon Pryce and a brace for Ade Garner the game was sealed.

Wakefield must now win their remaining two games to have any chance of avoiding relegation.

Wigan Warriors 38 (Dobson 3, Richards 2, Ashton, Godwin tries; Dobson 5 goals) def. Bradford Bulls 16 (Lynch, Pryce, Withers tries; Deacon 2 goals). Att: 15,830.

Wigan moved well clear of the relegation zone with a comprehensive win over Bradford Bulls at the JJB Stadium.

Brian Noble enjoyed a triumphant reunion against his old club Bradford as the hosts stunned the visitors in the opening quarter by running in three unanswered tries by Chris Ashton, Pat Richards and Michael Dobson. Richards intercepted a pass to run 90m for his second just before the break.

Dobson's second, at the start of the second half, made it 28-0 before Michael Withers scored the first of three Bradford tries, but Wayne Godwin and Dobson's hat-trick try sealed it.

Andy Lynch and Karl Pryce both crossed for consolations in the last twenty minutes. This Victory lifted Wigan four points clear of Wakefield and within four points of the play-off positions with two matches left.

Castleford Tigers 27 (Lupton, McGoldrick, Dyer, Manu, A Fletcher tries; Brough 3 goals, Sculthorpe field goal) def. Harlequins R.L. 12 (Williams, Sykes tries; Sykes 2 goals). Att: 5,531.

Castleford took a big step towards retaining their Super League status with victory over Harlequins R.L. at the Jungle.

The Tigers began strongly with Luke Dyer and Ryan McGoldrick both going over for tries. Paul Sykes and Danny Williams got Quins back into the game before Peter Lupton went over just on half-time, to give the hosts a 16-12 lead.

However, second-half tries from Willie Manu and Adam Fletcher gave the Tigers some breathing space and with some stout defence, they held on for a vital win.

Huddersfield Giants 24 (Drew, Reilly, Paul, Nero tries; De Vere 4 goals) def. Salford City Reds 18 (Hodgson, Fitzpatrick, Coley, Wilshere tries; Charles goal). Att: 5,027.

Huddersfield Giants claimed a dramatic last minute win over Salford City Reds at Galpharm Stadium.

The home side took a 14-8 lead at half-time with tries from Brad Drew and Chris Nero. Michael De Vere kicked three goals. Andy Coley and Jon Wilshere crossed for the Reds.

Paul Reilly grabbed Huddersfield's third but tries from Karl Fitzpatrick and David Hodgson brought Salford level at 18-all. In the last minute Robbie Paul followed up Earl Crabtree break to score the match winning try, which keep the Giants four points clear of Wakefield with two games left.

Hull F.C. 26 (Briscoe, G.Horne, Tony, Domic, Carvell tries; Cooke 3 goals) def. Catalans Dragons 12 (Bosc, Jones tries; Frayssinous 2 goals). Att: 10,300.

Hull kept their grip on second place with a hard-fought victory over Catalans Dragons at the K.C. Stadium.

The French team took a shock 6-4 lead at half-time with Stacey Jones crossing for a converted try, Shaun Briscoe going over for the hosts.

But the Black and Whites stepped up a gear in the second half - Gareth Carvell, Sid Domic, Graham Horne and Motu Tony all scoring to seal a 17th victory in 18 games.

Thomas Bosc grabbed a late second for Catalans but they remain bottom.
