England "A"
Beat France in Euro Nations Final

Five hours after Jonny Wilkinson kicked England to victory over France in the semifinals of the rugby union World Cup in Sydney, the French rugby league team also found themselves on the losing side against the old enemy in the final of the European Nations Cup.

Leeds winger Mark Calderwood was the hero for the England A team as he scored four tries in an easy 68-6 win.

That took his total to 33 for the season to do his chances of a Great Britain call-up for the final Ashes Test against Australia next Saturday no harm at all.

Rob Burrow (2), Gareth Hock, Martin Aspinwall, Ade Gardner and Rob Parker were England's other scorers while Danny Tickle kicked nine goals.

Carcassonne centre Teddy Saddaoui scored France's only try which Laurent Frayssinous converted.
