England claim International Origin match

The England Rugby League team have put on a clinic of points over the Exiles with a 30-10 victory at the Halliwell Jones Stadium in the International Origin Match.

England posted four first half tries which were unanswered by the Exiles as they held at 24-0 lead at the break. Zak Hardaker claimed first points for England thanks to a pin-point grubber kick from Sam Tomkins. He guided the ball between the Exiles' defence and landed it in goal.

Huddersfield Giants' outside back Leroy Cudjoe came up with a great one-on-one tackle on Brett Hodgson to force a mistake. James Roby cleaned up the loose carry to bolt the length of the field to extend the lead over the Exiles, England 12-0.

The Exiles struggled in the first half as their poor defensive reads made them easy pickings for England. They created an overlap on the open side which saw Leroy Cudjoe sprint downfield, he dummied and darted over for his own four-pointer.

The final points of the half came as Sam Tomkins broke the line to race 50 metres untouched to score England's fourth try. After 40 minutes, England ahead 24-0.

The Exiles crafted somewhat of a second half fight back with two tries in six minutes. Their first points came through Mickey Paea who charged through five English defenders to barge his way over the whitewash. England lead 24-6 after 55 minutes.
Brett Hodgson created the foundation for the Exiles' second try as he rocketed a cut out pass to Steve Menzies who managed to pop an offload for Joel Monaghan to dive in the corner.
The only major injury out of the game was to former Wests Tigers, Gareth Ellis who left the field with a lower back injury he sustained in a crunching tackle of Zak Hardaker.
