England U18
Academy Arrive In NZ

The England U18 Academy arrived in Auckland, New Zealand on Wednesday afternoon and are preparing to take on the pinnacle of our teen Rugby League talent in their challenge against the Junior Kiwi squad, before moving on to meet the Australian School Boys. The English have brought over a squad of 23 players and 7 staff, including Rugby Football League Performance Director, and former Great Britain coach, David Waite. David Waite will be assisting the team and will not only monitor and mentor the two young coaches, but will certainly be looking at the abilities of the players with the endeavour to upgrade the very elite to the next level in their high performance pathway. It is also quite interesting to note that Harrison Hansen, son of former Northcote Tigers and Marist player, Shane Hansen will be wearing the red, white and blue colours when he steps on to the field to represent the English squad. He will be someone to watch out for and according to David Waite, is a very talented young player. A warm up game will take place for the England U18 Academy against an Auckland U18 Rep Team on Sunday 1 August 2004 at North Harbour Stadium, 1.15pm. This will be followed by two tests against the Junior Kiwi's, also at North Harbour Stadium on Sunday 8 and Sunday 15 August 2004, both kicking off at 4.00pm.
