ESL Preview - Round 11 - Preview -
Saturday

Great Britain loose forward Gareth Ellis will figure for Leeds Rhinos in Saturday?s engage Super League match at Widnes.

Ellis, who has missed the last two games after having a clear-up operation on his knee, has been named in the champions? 18-strong squad for the game at the Halton Stadium.

Leeds also have prop Danny Ward back from suspension but half-back Danny McGuire is out with a broken hand and prop Barrie McDermott rests a minor knee injury.

Widnes coach Frank Endacott has swung the axe, with Gary Hulse, Andrew Emelio, Matt Whitaker and Sala Fa?alogo paying the price for a dismal run of results.

Winger Misili Manu and scrum-half Jamie Durbin make their engage Super League debuts.

Widnes coach Frank Endacott has wielded the axe, dropping four players from the team that lost 22-6 at home to Salford and bringing in youngsters Jamie Durbin and Paul Alcock.

?It?s time to send a message out that last week?s result as unacceptable,? he said. ?I couldn?t go through what I went through last week. It was absolutely unacceptable and I?ve wielded the axe."

Speaking about Durbin, a 20-year-old scrum-half signed recently on loan from neighbours Warrington, Endacott said: ?We need to know how he?s going to go.

?It?s no use having a player on loan and not trying him out. He was the best player on the pitch in the Under-21s on Saturday so I?ll be giving him a go.?
