Farrell Looks A Likely Starter

Andy Farrell's chances of leading Great Britain in the Think! Road Safety Ashes Series have been boosted after he was cleared to return to training following a knee injury. The Wigan Warriors loose forward played during the latter stages of the Tetley's Rugby Super League Play-Offs with the knee injury, but has not run fully since the Grand Final 11 days ago.

He went on the warm weather camp to Spain with the squad last week, and although he could not train with the squad he was still active in the gym.

Farrell visited a specialist on Tuesday following scans on the knee, and he has been given clearance to train with the squad when they reconvene - following Wednesday night's clash with New Zealand A - on Friday.

"Andy is in a very positive mood at the moment and we?re just looking forward to having him train with the squad on Friday," said team manager Phil Clarke.
