THE GARETH SWIFT MEMORIAL CUP: A NEW TRADITION BEGINS
Featherstone Rovers received their first silverware of 2011 when they defeated Hunslet Hawks on January 2nd: the Gareth Swift Memorial Cup'.
Immediately after the young player's death, the Rovers' Board of Directors decided that Gareth's name should always be part of the club. They started by dedicating the 2010 season to him.
The first pre-season game of the year will now have the Gareth Swift Memorial Cup' as its centre piece.
Tracy Milner, Gareth's mum made the inaugural presentation to Liam Finn and Tony Tonks joint captains of this year's winners.
