Featherstone Rovers RLFC have today announced a reorganisation of their management structure that will see director Chris Beaumont taking on the role of Chief Executive at the club. Chris has been a board member for seven years and will take up his new role with immediate effect. "This is a great opportunity for me to increase my day to day involvement at the club and have a direct role in what promises to be a very exciting season for Featherstone Rovers." said Chris. "I first came here as a result of my work with Silk Cut, the sponsors of the Challenge Cup, back in 1985. My involvement and links with the club grew and grew and I am proud to be at the helm at a crucial time in our history." One of Chris's first duties will be to oversee the club coming out of the CVA it has been in since last year. "The news on this is extremely positive" said Chris. "There has been a lot of work going on to pull us through this period and, whilst there have been some false dawns, we are confident that we will be able to annouce us leaving administration in the very near future." The club is also looking to boost their playing register with the addition of an Australian forward. Chris commented, "He is primarily a back rower who can also operate quite comfortably in the standoff position. Negotiations are at an advanced stage and we hope that we will have him on board soon. " Not such good news surrounds club skipper Ian Tonks who suffered rib cartiledge damage in the recent friendly against Hull FC. Ian is expected to be sidelined for a month that will see him miss the start of the Challenge Cup and Arriva Cup ties against Dewsbury and Hull KR.Like
