Fitness: Inglis and Gasnier

Melbourne superstar Greg Inglis rates himself an "80 per cent chance" of being fit for Saturday's preliminary final clash with St George Illawarra at Telstra Stadium.

Inglis has been hampered by an Achilles tendon injury which sidelined him for the Storm's 12-6 win against Parramatta a fortnight ago, but has made steady progress during his side's week off. The 19-year-old joined his team mates in Saturday's inter-club practice match and got through the 40-minute game unscathed.

The Queensland three-quarter, who is unsure which position he'll play on Saturday, said the week off was a big help to his recovery.

Meanwhile, St George Illawarra centre Mark Gasnier says he will wait until Thursday to decide if he'll play in this weekend's preliminary final.

Gasnier injured his hip two weeks ago in the first week of the finals against Brisbane and missed last Friday's semi-final win over Manly. The Australian Test centre says his injury is improving and should be right to play Melbourne at Telstra Stadium on Saturday night for a place in the grand final.
