Fitzgibbon on Standby for Blues

Roosters backrower Craig Fitzgibbon has been placed on standby and will come into the New South Wales side for game two if Bryan Fletcher fails a medical on his injured ankle. Fletcher has been give until Sunday to prove his fitness and is rated as doubtful at this stage. The Blues may also use the same loophole as Lote Tuqiri should aonther NSW forward fail to be fit in time for next Wednesday's clash.

In other Origin news, Bill Harrigan has been handed the whistle for game two amid tighter security measures at ANZ as he is sure to get a nasty reception due to his long running battle with Maroons captain, Gorden Tallis.
