Freddy gets Roosters job for two years

Brad Fittler will be head coach of the Sydney Roosters for the next two seasons, the club has announced.

The appointment is expected reward for the former Australian captain, who has turned the team's fortunes around in six matches as caretaker coach since Chris Anderson resigned.

He will be supported by current assistant coach Paul Young and also former Roosters halfback Adrian Lam who will rejoin the club as an assistant coach and also take control of the national youth competition side.

Fittler guided the previously struggling Roosters to four wins and a draw before the 22-18 weekend loss to Gold Coast Titans which has all but ended their hopes of an unlikely finals berth.
