Friend becomes first Titan to reach 100-club
Hard working hooker Nathan Friend will create a slice of Jetstar Gold Coast Titans history against the Sydney Roosters at Skilled Park on Saturday night when he becomes the first player to play 100-games for the club.
In a tribute to his consistency over the years, the 30-year-old will reach the milestone having missed just seven matches in five seasons for the Jetstar Titans.
Heading into this weekend's round, Friend is sitting on 99 games for the Jetstar Titans ahead of fellow inaugural players Mark Minichiello (94), Anthony Laffranchi (91), Scott Prince (89) and Preston Campbell (88).
Friend, who made has his club debut off the interchange bench in the Jetstar Titans' inaugural clash against the St George Illawarra Dragons on March 18, 2007, has played the majority of his 134 total NRL appearances in Jetstar Titans colours after previous stints with Brisbane (2002) and Melbourne (2003-06).
Fittingly, Friend will lead the team out against the Roosters on Saturday night.
