Penrith punish rusty Roosters

St George Centre Mark Gasnier was this morning picked in in the 25-man NSW Origin squad but had little time to enjoy the news.
X-rays showed he had chipped a bone in his knee following a clash with Willie Mason in the first 15 minutes in last Saturday's Dragons v Bulldogs clash at WIN Stadium.
Gasnier later consulted a knee surgeon and was told he did not need surgery, but is expected to be out for 4-8 weeks.
βI'm shattered; I must be one of the unluckiest blokes around with injuries,β he said. βIt's disappointing to miss an opportunity to play Origin football, but just as disappointing to miss playing for my club.β Gasnier said.
In other news, Dragons captain Trent Barrett will have an arthroscope on his right ankle tomorrow. The best case scenario is that he will be out for 4-6 weeks. More will be known after the arthroscope.
Meanwhile, representative prop Luke Bailey will be available to play for the Dragons in this week's clash with the Rabbitohs after missing two games with a back injury.
