Gidley out of tonights game

Matthew Gidley will miss Newcastle's NRL game against the Sydney Roosters at Aussie Stadium tonight.

Gidley was ruled out today with a thigh injury, which he aggravated in Wednesday night's State of Origin match at Suncorp Stadium.

However, there was some good news for the Knights with skipper Danny Buderus cleared to play after overcoming a back injury.

Kevin Henderson has been added to the Newcastle squad, which has undergone minor alterations this week.

Winger Craig Hall (thigh) will miss the game with George Carmont expected to start in his place while Michael Ennis was promoted to the starting side when lock Todd Lowrie was ruled out earlier this week.
