Girdler rewrites history books as
Panthers take the points

Ryan Girdler today became the only player in the history of Australian Rugby League to score 100 tries and 500 goals as the Penrith Panthers defeated the Melbourne Storm 36-16 at Penrith Football Stadium today.

The Storm were first to score but were never in the match as the Panthers posted a healthy half time lead of 24-4.

Melbourne came back in the second half with two tries and looked like making a contest of it at 24-16.

But Penrith ran away with it with Girdler scoring a double and putting the match beyond the visitor's reach.
