Give it some time: Smith

Eels coach Brian Smith has cautioned Parramatta fans ahead of the team's opening clash with the Tigers, asking for patience while his players gel. Although he hopes the new-look squad will begin the season well, Smith expects his chargers to take some time before they hit their straps.

Parra really got amongst things in the recruitment department last year, with Timana Tahu, Paul Stringer, Mark Riddell, Glenn Morrison and PJ Marsh all joining the club. They have all been named in Parramatta's squad for Saturday night's premiership opener at Telstra Stadium, where the journey to mould them into a premiership force will begin.

Barnstorming back-rower Nathan Hindmarsh has been named on the interchange bench as he eases himself back into footy following injury.
