Go West! Rabbitohs burrow surfaces
in Homebush

South Sydney have announced that they will move their home games away from Aussie Stadium to Olympic Park at Homebush from 2006.

Since 1988 the Rabbitohs have populated their inner-city surrounds after leaving a rundown Redfern Oval, and now in a new four year deal, will move 12 games a year out to Telstra Stadium thanks to a financially attractive arrangement.

Despite last minute negotiations, the Sydney Cricket Ground Trust were unable to persuade the Bunnies from moving bases, and will now play host to only the Sydney Roosters for home games.

The move has taken about six months to complete, and CEO Shane Richardson has described this step as the final piece in a business plan which was created when he became the boss out at the proud foundation club.

They will share the Stadium with Wests Tigers and the Canterbury Bulldogs, with speculation on the future of the St George Illawarra Dragons more than likely set to resurface at some stage during the season.
