Gould to make decision on Origin
future this week

New South Wales coach Phil Gould says he expects to make a decision on his rugby league State of Origin future later this week.

Gould, who took a preliminary Blues squad through a one-day camp at Telstra Stadium today, says he is considering standing down as Blues coach due to ongoing problems with some journalists from News Limited.

The premiership-winning coach, who writes for rival media organisation Fairfax, says it would be hypocritical of him to remain in the post and only talk to certain sections of the media. Gould says he expects to make a decision later this week after a meeting with Australian Rugby League boss Colin Love and National Rugby League chief executive David Gallop.
