Hayne's spot now up for grabs

New South Wales winger Jarryd Hayne has been unsuccessful in his bid to downgrade a lifting tackle charge at the NRL judiciary tonight and has been handed a three game suspension, ruling him out of the second State of Origin match at Suncorp Stadium on June 11.

Joel Monaghan (Raiders), Luke Lewis (Panthers) and Steve Turner (Storm) are lining up to replace the Parramatta Eels back.

The 20-year-old sought a downgrade to grade one in the hope of escaping a ban. But the judiciary rejected the plea, hitting Hayne with 325 penalty points equating to a three-game ban.

Hayne was shattered after the hearing and he will now miss Origin II and two club games for the Eels.
