Hill out of Dragons clash with back
injury

Melbourne Storm five-eight Scott Hill has been ruled out of tomorrow night?s clash with the St George Illawarra Dragons after suffering a back injury at training this week.

Hill broke down at training on Tuesday and despite being cleared of any serious damage to his lower back yesterday, the former Test lock will not travel to Wollongong with the Storm after failing a fitness test this morning.

The injury is not a reoccurrence of the back spasms that forced the 27-year-old to miss the Storm?s Round 13 match against the Tigers earlier this year; this latest setback is related to a minor sprain in Hill?s lower back.

Hill is expected to be replaced at five-eighth by Matt Geyer, who will play his 150th match for the Storm at WIN Stadium on Friday night, while Dustin Cooper comes into the side to cover Geyer?s right wing.

The Storm will finalise preparations for tomorrow night?s match with a closed training session in Wollongong later today.
