The Pirtek Parramatta Eels will be without captain Nathan Hindmarsh for tonight's match against the New Zealand Warriors after he was struck down with a severe virus over the weekend.
Hindmarsh woke up ill on Saturday morning with a fever but his condition worsened considerably over the ensuing hours, with the 32-year-old withdrawing from his scheduled commentating appearance for Fox Sports before being admitted to Norwest Private hospital at around 8pm.
The Eels skipper was treated for dehydration with an intravenous drip until Sunday morning when he returned home.
