Injured stars to learn
fates today

Injured rugby league stars Benji Marshall of the Wests Tigers, Craig Gower of Penrith and Ryan Cross from the Sydney Roosters will learn their immediate playing futures after MRI scans in Sydney today.

Marshall dislocated his shoulder at Townsville on Friday night and faces up to two months on the sidelines or season-ending surgery.

Gower spent last night in hospital with a chest injury that left him coughing blood but he appears not to have broken his ribs or sternum.

Cross damaged ankle ligaments against Cronulla on Saturday night and could miss between four to six weeks. His Roosters skipper Craig Fitzgibbon meanwhile is racing to be fit for Friday's clash with Brisbane also with an ankle injury.
