Injury cloud over Storm halfback

Melbourne Storm halfback Matt Orford will have x-rays this evening after suffering a suspected broken hand in the second half of last night?s historic 28-18 win over the Knights in Newcastle.

Orford played out the match ? the Storm?s first ever victory in Newcastle ? despite suffering the injury early in the second term. Storm medical staff is hopeful that the 26-year-old has simply suffered a soft tissue injury.

Compounding Melbourne?s injury concerns is a foot sprain to try-scoring centre Steven Bell. Bell left the field midway through the second half of last night?s match at EnergyAustralia Stadium after suffering the injury to his left foot.

He will undergo MRI scans tomorrow to determine the full extent of the injury.

After aggravating a knee injury last night, winger Matt Geyer doesn?t look like missing next week?s match against the Wests Tigers at Olympic Park.
