Injury Update ? Two clubs in
turmoil

The Bulldogs club have been thrown further into disarray following the news that halfback Brent Sherwin was operated on last night for a broken hand.

The crafty player sustained the injury in Saturday night?s loss to the Newcastle Knights and won?t be available again unless his club make the semis, a task becoming increasingly difficult given their mounting injury toll and potential suspension to winger Matt Utai.

The Canberra Raiders have also suffered a body blow, with news that chief playmaker Jason Smith won?t make it back on the field this season.

Smith also has a fracture in his hand which he has been playing with over the past three weeks in a bid to get the Raiders back into contention for the finals. In a further dent to their September aspirations, teammate Mat Adamson looks like he has played his last game for the club, remarkably with a broken hand as well.

He?s off to the new French Super League club Les Catalans next year as a strength and conditioning coach.
