Jacko signs new 2-year deal

Huddersfield Giants Prop Forward Paul Jackson has signed a new two-year contract tying him to club until end of 2009 season. The Scottish International was delighted to sign the deal: "As soon as my agent told me the Giants wanted to re-sign me, I said 'take it', I wasn't really interested in looking around to see if there might be anything else at another club. It's brilliant here, I love the club and it's the place where I want to be." Jackson wants to go out and celebrate his new deal with a victory over Salford on Sunday and urged fans to turn out in force for this weekend's crucial game against Salford City Reds. "We've got some great players, the team spirit is fantastic and I get quality coaching on a daily basis. If I didn't think we had the people here who could turn our season around, I might have had second thoughts about signing straight away."

"I really have got total faith in everyone at the club, and I see no reason at all why we won't get that first win against Salford on Sunday"

"I know the fans are hurting as much as the players at the way things have gone so far this season, but I hope they keep the faith and turn out in force this weekend to cheer us to victory" Giants Head Coach Jon Sharp was delighted to secure Jackson's services: "I'm delighted Paul is staying for two more years. He's always been a model professional with a great attitude, and it's these sort of players we need at the club.

"Jacko's been one of our most consistent players over the past two years and I regard him as one of the most effective props in Super League. He's a player who sets a fantastic example to all the players around him.''
