Previews - Round 12

Western Suburbs Magpies V South Sydney Rabbitohs Eighth placed Western Suburbs are at home to seventh placed South Sydney. The Magpies have been on a very impressive winning streak, with their only recent loss being to equal first placed Sharks in round seven. Souths also have decent recent form, but the Magpies should be able to get the win and leapfrog them on the table.

Canterbury Bulldogs V Central Coast RIP The sixth place Bulldogs are at home to bottom of the table RIP. The Bulldogs have mixed form, while the RIP remain winless after eleven rounds. These sides lined up against each other in round eight, when the Bulldogs won by 50-10. The Bulldogs should run out easy winners.

Balmain Tigers V North Sydney Bears 12th placed Tigers are at home to 13th placed Bears. The Tigers have had a few competitive scores against good sides in recent times, and the Bears come off their second win of the season against the RIP (22-16) last week. The Tigers should get away with a win ? possibly by a big score.

Sydney Roosters V Canberra Raiders The fourth placed Roosters are at home to the eleventh placed Raiders. Both teams started the season slowly, and both have improved form over recent weeks. The Roosters have won their last three games and their last loss was against first placed Saints, while the Raiders have had mixed results in their last three games against middle of the table sides. The Roosters should get their fourth straight win and put a lot of pressure on the leading sides for the remainder of the season.

St George-Illa Dragons V Newcastle Knights First placed Dragons are at home to fifth placed Knights. These sides played each other in round eleven, and line up again for round twelve. Last week the two teams were tied at 18-18 at halftime, but the Dragons ran away with an easy win in the second half. The Knights should be a much improved side this week due to the availability of four players who stared in their winning Premier League side last week, they being halfback Dureau, hooker Berry, centre McManus and prop Natusch. The score should be much closer than last week, but Saints have the more impressive form and should win.

Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks V Parramatta Eels Second placed Sharks are at home to third placed Eels. Both teams won in round eleven and lost in round ten, and both teams had a long winning streak before that. Cronulla might steal a win as the home side in a very close game.

Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles V Penrith Panthers Ninth placed Eagles are at home to the tenth placed panthers. Neither side has had a win since round seven, when Penrith beat the RIP. Both sides need a win to stay in touch with the top eight. I tip the Eagles because they are the home side.
