If you can't get enough footy, head out to Campbelltown Stadium on May 21st to see the NSWRL Jim Beam Cup Representative Side take on the might of the Brisbane Capitals.
The side announced this week features four former first grade footballers and should be a great night. Three-quarters Nathan Barnes (Knights, Eels, Raiders), Damien Mostyn (Sharks, Souths), lock Nathan de Bartolo (Souths) and prop Hayes Lauder (Balmain) headline the side.
The full team is: 1 Dane Gilmore - Souths Juniors 2 Scott Ella - Wentworthville 3 Damien Mostyn - Sydney Bulls 4 Nathan Barnes - Windsor 5 Mick Corrie - Sydney Bulls 6 Jono Rolfe - St Marys-Penrith 7 Keiron Herring - Ryde-Eastwood 8 Hayes Lauder - Wentworthville 9 Glenn Sedwell - St Marys-Penrith 10 Cheyne Lennon - The Entrance 11 Peter Ford - Erina 12 Adam Capovilla - Wentworthville 13 Nathan De Bartolo - Sydney Bulls Reserves 14 Ryan Asplet - Sydney Bulls 15 Manu Asoava - St Marys-Penrith 16 Clint Cooke - Souths Juniors 17 Wes Tillott - Erina
Although there are twelve teams in the Jim Beam Cup, only eight are represented. Five Sydney Bulls dominate the side, while the St Marys-Penrith Cougars and Wentworthville Magpies have three each. Amazingly the league leading Ryde Eastwood Hawks have only one representative in halfback Keiron Herring.
Some other players with first grader experience to miss out on selection include: James Pickering (Bulldogs) & George Azzi (Roosters) both Bulls, Ourimbah captain Jason Bell (Eels, Souths, Warriors), Mark Meredith (Souths) & Garth Wood (Souths) and former Eels schoolboy signing Barney Haslett (Woy Woy) also missed out.
The game kicks off at 7pm, so get out and support the boys.
