Jones back for Cowboys

JONES BACK FOR COWBOYS

BEN Jones will take over at halfback for the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys in the round 20 NRL clash with the Gold Coast Titans at Skilled Park on Saturday evening.

Coach Neil Henry has opted to give the 21-year-old his chance in the No.7 jersey in place of Michael Morgan who has filled in for injured co-captain Johnathan Thurston in the Cowboys' previous two matches.

Morgan will play for the Mackay Cutters against Redcliffe in the Intrust Super Cup match in Mackay this weekend.

Jones has previously been used in the centres this season after joining North Queensland from the Roosters at the end of 2010.

Co-captain Matthew Scott, who missed the 38-18 loss to Wests Tigers on Saturday night, has been named in a 19-man squad to face the Titans but will need to prove his fitness later in the week.

Scott has been troubled by a disc in his back since the end of his State of Origin commitments with Queensland but has shown some improvement in the past couple of days.

Back-rower Joel Riethmuller is the other inclusion on a six-man bench which will be reduced to four on Saturday.
