Judiciary and Injuries

Bulldogs forward Willie Mason is set be sidelined until the finals series after being charged by the NRL match review committee today.

Mason will miss two matches unless he successfully contests a grade two careless high tackle charge for his tackle on Brisbane halfback Shane Perry at Telstra Stadium on Friday night. The Test prop would have escaped with a one match ban but for 67 carry over points for a prior offence.

Newcastle hooker Danny Buderus will escape suspension for his high tackle on North Queensland fullback Matt Bowen after copping a grade one careless high tackle charge.

Cowboys duo Clint Amos and Steve Southern will also be free to play this weekend if they accept the early guilty plea for their part in a lifting tackle on Knights winger Anthony Quinn.

Meanwhile, Parramatta will be sweating on the fitness of Nathan Cayless after the Eels captain sustained an eye socket injury during yesterday's 40-26 NRL win against Sydney Roosters.

Cayless suffered a concussion and a suspected broken nose in a costly early collision, but the eye injury is of greatest concern to the resurgent club. He will learn the extent of the injury when club officials obtain scan results today.

The Eels already have four props injured - Aaron Cannings, Adam Peek, Michael Vella and Justin Tsoulos - while Fuifui Moimoi is suspended until week three of the finals.
