The availability of Australian hooker Danny Buderus and Kiwi internationals Nigel Vagana and Louis Anderson for Friday night's rugby league Test remains in doubt, with the trio sure to come under scrutiny from the NRL match review committee today.
Buderus was penalised for a lifting tackle on South Sydney winger Luke MacDougall yesterday, but could face further punishment when the match review committee hands down it's findings today. Cronulla centre Vagana will also come under scrutiny for his high hit on Penrith prop Bryan Norrie in Friday night's win at CUA Stadium.
While Warriors lock Andersen was cited for a swinging arm on the Bulldogs' Tony Grimaldi yesterday. Others who will come under the microscope include St George Illawarra prop Luke Bailey for a late tackle on Storm halfback Cooper Cronk, while Brisbane centre Justin Hodges could be in hot water for a lifting tackle in Saturday night's two point win over Canberra.
Meanwhile, Newcastle fullback Milton Thaiday is expected to have scans on his ankle today after limping from the field in the Knights win over South Sydney at Telstra Stadium yesterday.
Thaiday failed to play in the second half after rolling his ankle on half time and coach Michael Hagan admits the mounting injury toll at Newcastle is becoming a concern. Hagan however denied the injury had anything to do with the suspect playing surface at Telstra Stadium which had only been re-laid three days earlier after complaints by NRL teams.
St George Illawarra halfback Mathew Head aggravated his knee in the Dragons loss to Melbourne on Saturday night and is expected to spent more time on the sidelines.
