Judiciary news

Brisbane lock Tonie Carroll faces a two or three match suspension after being charged with a grade two dangerous throw following the 24-10 loss to the New Zealand Warriors.

The match review committee slapped a grade two dangerous throw on Carroll for his part in a lifting tackle on Warriors forward Micheal Luck, the Queensland Origin backrower to miss two matches with an early guilty plea.

Carroll will risk a three-match ban if he unsuccessfully fights the charge at the judiciary.

Canberra centre David Howell and St George Illawarra second rower Corey Payne will each miss one week with an early guilty plea after being charged with striking and a careless high tackle respectively.

Newcastle backrower Daniel Tolar and Sydney Roosters pair David Shillington and Mickey Paea will all escape suspension with early guilty pleas after being charged with careless high tackles.
