Kangaroos
into camp

The final members of Australia's rugby league team will arrive in camp today, with Bulldogs forwards Willie Mason and Mark O'Meley and North Queensland pair Jonathan Thurston and Luke O'Donnell joining their team mates in Sydney this morning.

The rest of the Kangaroos began their preparations for Friday night's Anzac Test match against New Zealand last night after assembling in Coogee. The team flies to Brisbane on Wednesday morning.

Manly veteran Steve Menzies says he is surprised by his call-up for the Anzac Test, admitting he felt his chances of playing again for Australia had passed him by.

Menzies, 32, played the last of his 14 Tests for the Kangaroos in October 2002 - Australia's 32-24 victory over New Zealand in Wellington and felt he was at long odds to be selected to face the Kiwis in next Friday's Test match at Suncorp Stadium.

The latest Test cap is also likely to push up Menzies' asking price should the veteran second rower decide to extend his career beyond this season.
