Kidwell looking to re-sign with
Storm

Melbourne Storm forward, David Kidwell, hopes to cement a new deal next week to keep him at the Melbourne Storm.

With negotiations nearing a conclusion for the Christchurch-born back rower, who has never spent more than two seasons at a club during his eight-year first grade career in Australia and England, Kidwell is looking for a bit of security.

After stints with Adelaide, Parramatta, English Super League club Warrington and the Sydney Roosters, Kidwell seems to have found his niche in the National Rugby League's Victorian outpost.

"I'm happy at the Storm. It's a great club and I hope to have something sorted out next week," he said.

However, Kidwell said he was not afraid of joining another club should negotiations not reach a satisfactory conclusion.

"Some people may think going from club to club is a negative thing but I see it the opposite way.

"I've played with some great players and picked things up from every team."

The 27-year-old's form for Melbourne saw him recalled to the Kiwis for April's Anzac test ? ending a four-year stint in the international wilderness.

He was the Kiwis' man-of-the-match in Newcastle, scoring a try in New Zealand's 10-37 loss, and is now eyeing the end-of-season Tri-Nations tour of Great Britain.
