Knights sign Michael Dobson

The Newcastle Knights are pleased to announce that they have secured the services of Hull KR half back Michael Dobson for the 2014 season.

An Australian Schoolboy, Dobson played 20 games for the Canberra Raiders before being lured back to the English Super League midway through the 2008 season.

In 2009, he was awarded the prestigious Albert Goldthorpe medal as the Super League Player of the Year and was named in the Super League Dream Team for the 2009 and 2010 seasons.

The 27-year-old has played 134 games for Hull KR during which he has scored 51 tries and kicked 475 goals and is currently captain of the side.

"We look forward to Michael joining our Club for the 2014 season,” CEO Matt Gidley said.

“Michael has been one of the best half backs in the Super League for a number of years now and will bring further depth in our half back ranks behind Jarrod Mullen and Tyrone Roberts."
