Lockyer, Sing rushed into QLD
side

Queensland have made just two changes to the side beaten by New South Wales last month for the second State of Origin match at Suncorp Stadium next week.

Play-maker Darren Lockyer returns from injury, as does Cowboys winger Matt Sing who will replace Justin Hodges in the side.

Hodges may be cited by the National Rugby League judiciary today over a high tackle that saw him sent from the field during the Roosters? match with the Bulldogs last Friday night, but his general form in the first match and the experience of Sing is believed to be the reason he was omitted.

Bulldogs centre Willie Tonga, who was suddenly in the limelight after a hat-trick of tries and a man-of-the-match performance against the Roosters, was overlooked for selection.

The full team for Origin II is: Rhys Wesser, Matt Sing, Paul Bowman, Brent Tate, Billy Slater, Darren Lockyer, Scott Prince, Shane Webcke, Cameron Smith, Steve Price, Michael Crocker, Dane Carlaw, Tonie Carroll. Bench: Ben Ross, Petero Civoniceva, Chris Flannery, Matt Bowen.
