Lomu sticks with Union

Former All Black Rugby International Jonah Lomu has decided against switching codes and joining the Jetstar Gold Coast Titans for their inaugural National Rugby League season in 2007.

Jonah?s wife and Manager Fiona informed Jetstar Titans managing Director Michael Searle of the couple?s decision this morning.

Searle said, ?The Jetstar Gold Coast Titans are pleased to have been in a position to present Jonah Lomu with an opportunity to join the National Rugby League through the Jetstar Gold Coast Titans and the chance to pursue dual International status with the New Zealand Rugby League.?

?We understand and respect the business decision Jonah has made and wish him all the best in Rugby and in Life. Both Jonah and Fiona have been a pleasure to deal with and we look forward to having them as guests of the Jetstar Titans at an NRL game in the near future.? Searle Said

Lomu met with Michael Searle, head coach John Cartwright and the Clubs medical staff during a recent visit to the Gold Coast to gauge his interest in switching codes.

At the conclusion of the two day visit the Lomu?s were presented with a one year offer to join the Jetstar Titans for their debut season at Carrara in 2007.

After meeting with various International sponsors and taking sufficient time to think the challenges through, Jonah Lomu today decided to stick with rugby union.

The Jetstar Gold Coast Titans wish Jonah and Fiona the very best in both Rugby and in Life.
