London Broncos will become the first rugby league club to take part in the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby 7s from December 3-5.
The club has today confirmed that its team will feature in the prestigious three-day tournament that attracts 160 teams worldwide.
Two weeks ago the Broncos announced that its team would prepare for the 2004 season with a two-month warm weather training camp in Dubai, and participation in the International Invitation Sevens fits neatly with this schedule.
Broncos Chief Executive Nic Cartwright said: "Here is a chance to do something a little different that makes a lot of sense.
We're very fortunate to have friends at the Dubai Exiles Rugby Club and they are assisting us in a number of areas."
"The training conditions and facilities at the club are very good. Our friends at the Exiles are keen to have us over there and it should be a great experience for our players and the club."
Jim Lees, Chairman of Dubai Exiles Rugby Club, commented: "It is a tremendous boost for the profile of the Dubai Exiles Club and their inclusion for the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby 7s will only succeed in increasing the global appeal of the event."
The International Invitational tournament is one of eight competitions held alongside the World 7's which features 16 of the world's top rugby 7s nations. England, New Zealand, South Africa, Fiji and France are among the favourites coming to Dubai for the three-day extravaganza.
The London Broncos, who commence their winter break in Dubai from November 25, will come up against the likes of seasoned touring sides The Samurais, Marauders, South Seas Drifters and the British Army in what is undoubtedly one of the strongest line ups Dubai has ever hosted.
London Broncos will be putting together special Supporters Packages and these will be available through travel partner CTI in the next couple of weeks.
London Broncos will host their own International event next Tuesday when world champions Australia play England 'A' at Griffin Park Brentford.
The England 'A' team will be announced tomorrow (Tuesday 21st) and London players Paul Sykes and Rob Purdham are both hopeful of being included in the seventeen man line-up.
